Lauren Ornelas discusses the power of our food choices at TEDxGoldenGatePark.

This is a very passionate and inspiring speech from Lauren Ornelas. She became a vegan in high school, where she started her first animal-rights group. Most of Lauren’s time is dedicated to social justice. She is the founder of Vvia! USA which is a national nonprofit vegan advocacy organization. She has performed and recorded many factory farm investigations and interviews. Lauren is extremely passionate about both human and animal rights, which is why she founded the Food Empowerment Project in 2007. It is an all-volunteer non-profit that encourages people to make ethical food choices. It spotlights “the abuse of animals on farms, the depletion of our natural resources, unfair working conditions for produce workers, the lack of access to healthy foods in low-income areas, and the exploitation of children and other workers in the production of chocolate.” This 8 minute video will leave you inspired and ready to make some dietary changes in your life.
