A tribute to carving out your place in the world, Rough Cut Vegan is about dreams, survival, and turning pain into action.

This memoir follows Sara Abed Millman’s vegan awakening at 12 and her challenges growing up vegan in the '70s. Leaving home at 16 for New York City to pursue her dream of acting and helping animals, Sara’s journey shifts as a series of events lead her from aspiring actress to filmmaker, culminating in the creation of her first micro-budget feature film—a testament to independent intersectional  filmmaking with vegan production methods.
